On 20 November, 2019 the Assemblies of AIDEPI (Italian Association of Confectionary and Pasta Industries) and AIIPA (Italian Association of Food Industries) have merged in a new Association called UNIONE ITALIANA FOOD.

The decision to join forces between AIDEPI and AIIPA, the two leading major Sectors’ Associations of the Italian food industry, stems from the objective of offering to the Member companies a more effective and a large representation towards Institutions and stakeholders, in such a difficult social and economic context, crossed by deep and rapid economic and political changes.

UNIONE ITALIANA FOOD, with 450 Member companies, more than 20 food categories represented, 35 billion euros of turnover, including 10 billion euros of export turnover, 65.000 employees, is settled as the main sector Association in the food industry.

The President of the new Association is Marco Lavazza, and Vice President is Paolo Barilla.

The Director General of the UNIONE ITALIANA FOOD is Mario Piccialuti.

The merger will take full effect starting from January 1st, 2019.
